The quadratic residue diffusers we offer are two-dimensional ("hemispherical"), based on the famed German physicist Manfred R. Schroeder's tried and true designs. Built out of solid wood by hand, they are available as singular wall mounted units or modular free standing units on wheels.

Complimentary to absorption and bass trapping, good diffusion can add a nice sense of spaciousness not possible with absorption alone. If used during recording, it can help create a more lively sound and add sparkle to instruments like acoustic guitars or percussions. Diffusion also avoids comb filtering and flutter echo, but without reducing the room's ambience as does absorption.
